Abstract

Climate change is currently one of the most pressing challenges of our time, which requires exhaustive analysis and a comprehensive vision for its understanding and also to be able to establish adaptation plans, by virtue of the fact that the effects of climate change are wide and diverse, the most indicated, increase in the frequency of meteorological phenomena, Rising global temperatures, rising sea levels, increased frequency of extreme weather events and the loss of biodiversity, all of the above pose threats to the population, human health, economies and therefore to ecosystems, which by virtue of environmental sensitivity may be more or less vulnerable to climate change. In this sense, at the present time, the use of information technologies, such as geographic information systems, remote sensing and generative geospatial intelligence (GeoAI), allows support for climate change adaptation studies. In the present analysis, through the use of geographic information systems applying vector, matrix and generative geospatial intelligence techniques, the environmental systems with the highest level of vulnerability were identified in the northern area of the Gulf of Cariaco. The data assessed will be useful for decision-making in the environmental management of the northern coast of the Gulf of Cariaco in the state of Sucre in terms of territorial planning, taking as a reference the basic unit of the territory, which is the hydrographic basin.
