Ten species of grapsoidean crabs are first time recorded from La Tortuga Island: Aratus pisonii, Armases ricordii, Cardisoma guanhumi, Cyclograpsus integer, Hartnollius lateralis, Geograpsus lividus, Grapsus grapsus, Pachygrapsus transversus, Percnon gibbesii and Plagusia depressa. This way, at least one member of each of the grapsoidean families listed for Venezuela is recorded from La Tortuga Island, and the number of decapod crabs known from this island rises to 51 species.
