The main taxonomic features of six species of scalebearing polychaetes, collected in the northeastern coast of Venezuela, are described: Grubeulepis fimbriata (TREADWELL, 1901), G. westoni PETTIBONE, 1986, Psammolyce spinosa HARTMAN, 1939, Lepidasthenia varia TREADWELL, 1917, Halosydna leucohyba (SCHMARDA), 1861 and Ehlersileanira incisa (GRUBE), 1877.
