The present work was done on the basic of analysis of 366 specimens of Euthynnus alleteratus. The sampling was done between June 1987 to August 1988 around Picua Island, Sucre State, Venezuela. Length and weight measurements were taken for the determination of length-weight relationship and that of K- factor. Besides, sexes were determined. Morphometric and meristic characteristics were studied with a view to determine sexual dimorphism if any, as well as for relative growth. The size of the sample studied ranged between 198 to 717 mm fork length and the weight varied 102 to 6,155 g. Sexual differences were observed in majority of the taxonomic characters studied. In general the growth was allometric, such was the case in majority of the relative growth of different parts of the body. Organisms showed good physiological condition throughout the period of study.
