Abstract

In this paper, the “paper nautilus” Argonauta argo (Llinné, 1758) is cited for the first time, for the coasts of Sucre state, Venezuela, being the second scientific report in the country. Based on a specimen captured alive in the vicinity of the Ensal Pier, Araya Peninsula, dying hours later. A description of the animal is made based on its morphological and anatomical characteristics of the “shell”, a photographic record of the same was also made. Currently, the example described rests in the Museo del Mar - UDO, forming part of the Scientific Collection of Molluscs.
