In this study 368 specimens of benthic polychaete associated to soft bottoms from Gulf of Venezuela were analyzed taxonomically. The material was collected in 48 stations between 2007-2012 at depths between 0.5 and 104 m. A PVC corer was used at those stations (5) with depths less than 3 m, and a beam trawl in stations with depths greater than 3m. Fifteen species belonging to five families were identified, three of them represent new records for Venezuela. These results increase the knowledge of marine biodiversity in this important and extense region of the venezuelan coast.
