The Bulletin of the Oceanographic Institute of Venezuela is a peer-reviewed, biannual digital journal that publishes original and unpublished contributions in marine sciences. These include marine biology, geology, and ecology, oceanography, evolution, systematics and taxonomy of marine organisms, pollution, fisheries, marine culture, marine biotechnology, conservation, and
the integrated management of marine and coastal resources. Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish or English (for English submissions, authors are encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed by a native English speaker or a language specialist). The BIOV accepts articles, notes, and reviews.
Articles are original scientific publications based on experimental or theoretical research. Notes are short communications on a specific topic, sometimes reporting partial research results. Reviews are invited contributions from researchers on a particular topic in which the author has a proven track record, as reflected in their publications.
